Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men’s Soccer Drops Match To Holy Family

Goldey-Beacom men's soccer was unable to find its rhythm throughout the match despite strong play all around and dropped the match 3-1 to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opponent Holy Family.

Holy Family netted their first goal off a penalty kick by Deshawn Bernard in the 25th minute. Holy Family scored again in the 42nd minute off of Sergio Revuelta's first goal of the game, which was assisted by Mohamed Bility.

The second half saw relatively equal play from both teams, with Goldey-Beacom taking seven shots compared to Holy Family's six.

The Lightning capitalized on their offensive efforts in the 66th minute when freshman Daniel Granado (Seville, Spain) scored his first goal of the season off a great pass from junior Lucas Fernandes (Belo Horizonte, Brazil).

Holy Family's Sergio Revuelta went on to score his second goal of the game in the 83rd minute off an assist from Lucca Saad to lead the Tigers to a 3-1 victory over the Lightning.

Granado and freshman Ogün Ünal (Frankfurt, Germany) led the Lighting with three shots a piece and junior Jamel Yasin (Woodbury, N.J.) had seven saves.

Revuelta had four shots for Holy Family and Luke Shank finished with six saves.

Goldey-Beacom plays again on Saturday in Livingston, NJ against Felician at 4:45pm.
