Volleyball Handed 3-1 Setback at Holy Family

Goldey-Beacom women's volleyball was unable to hold onto its momentum from the first set and ended up dropping the match to Holy Family in four sets (25-19, 21-25, 19-25, 18-25).

The Lightning came out strong in the first set, holding Holy Family to a negative hitting percentage to start off the match, but were unable to find their rhythm in the remaining sets.

GBC cut the deficit to two points in the second set after being down by six, but Holy Family kept the momentum on its side and took the last three sets en route to its fourth Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory.

The Lightning were led by senior Piper Nanouski (Chicago, Ill), who had 15 kills. Senior Caitlyn Burch (Mechanicsville, Md.) also added 10 kills and one block of her own. Freshman libero Gaby Fernandez (Arecibo, P.R.) ended with 19 digs and fellow freshman Ada Koksal (Istanbul, Turkiye) finished with 41 assists and two aces.

Holy Family was led by Jayden Bralts with 13 kills and Morgan Steck with 44 assists.

Goldey-Beacom is back at home on Saturday, when it will face Felician at 12pm.
