Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women’s Soccer Records 1-0 Win at D’Youville



Senior Sia Diakos (Frankford, DE) scored in the second half and Goldey-Beacom held on from there in a 1-0 victory at D'Youville in Buffalo, NY.
 
The contest was highlighted by the defense until Goldey-Beacom struck paydirt in the 67th minute.  Freshman Ryley Dixon (Pilesgrove, NJ) won a 50/50 ball that was passed to Diakos, who put it home for her fifth goal of the season.
 
The Saints did not have a shot in the second half up to that point, but then turned up the pressure with four shots the rest of the way.  However, all stayed out to give the Lightning their third win in the last five outings.
 
Diakos had five shots and senior Nikki Cashin (Ridley, PA) made four saves for the Lightning (5-9-1).
 
Melia La and Eleonora Cecchini recorded two shots apiece with Katie Liljenquist making six saves for D'Youville (1-10-2).
 
Goldey-Beacom next Tuesday returns to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play, visiting Georgian Court for a 3:00 pm match in Lakewood, NJ.
