Volleyball Makes it Four Straight With 3-0 Triumph at Caldwell



Goldey-Beacom found itself in a battle at Caldwell and left with its fourth consecutive victory, a 3-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference triumph (25-21, 25-19, 25-21) in Caldwell, NJ.
 
The Lightning in the first set owned a 16-9 kills edge with just two errors and a .500 hitting percentage.  Seniors Piper Nanouski (Chicago, IL) and Caitlyn Burch (Mechanicsville, MD) each had five kills in that time.
 
Nanouski also was on point in the second, recording three kills during the final spurt in which Goldey-Beacom outscored Caldwell 9-2.  Sophomores Ngozi Nwosu (Brockton, MA) and Ma'kayla Coats (Ann Arbor, MI) each had three kills in the set as part of the Lightning's 15.
 
GBC in the final set recorded a 15-5 kills advantage with Nanouski posting four.  The Lightning ended the match up 46-22 in kills and forced the Cougars into a .090 percentage.
 
Nanouski had 14 kills, Burch recorded 10 with freshman Ada Koksal (Istanbul, Turkiye) adding 33 assists for the Lightning.
 
Jordan Mack and Alexa McEwan amassed seven kills apiece for the Cougars (1-19, 1-9 CACC).
 
Goldey-Beacom (12-11, 5-5) jumps into fourth place in the CACC South Division, one-half match over Jefferson (4-5) and two matches behind Chestnut Hill (7-3) for second place.  The top four teams in each of the two divisions go to the conference tournament and the top two host a quarterfinal game.
 
GBC next Wednesday is at Holy Family, beginning at 6:00 pm.
