Volleyball Rolls, 3-0, Over Lincoln (PA)



Goldey-Beacom closed its four-match homestand by getting its third straight win, 3-0 (25-8, 25-16, 25-21) over Lincoln (PA) at the Jones Center in Wilmington, DE.
 
The first set featured GBC recording eight aces, thanks to four apiece from freshman Ada Koksal (Istanbul, Turkiye) and senior Morgan Mendick (Bear, DE).  The Lightning had seven kills and just one error with a .500 hitting percentage, versus four, five and -.071 for the Lions.
 
Set number two saw a stalemate at 13 before the Lightning ended things on a 12-3 spurt.  Junior Giuliana Jaku (Frontin, Italy) had three kills in that time and five in the set, helping her squad own a 14-7 edge in the stanza.
 
The third set witnessed GBC ending things on an 18-8 run, thwarting any momentum Lincoln built.  Senior Caitlyn Burch (Mechanicsville, MD) notched all six of her kills from the set in the spurt, helping the Lightning (11-11) to their fourth victory in the last six matches.
 
Jaku closed with 11 kills and eight digs, senior Piper Nanouski (Chicago, IL) recorded 11 and five, Koksal had 29 assists and six aces with Mendick getting nine digs and four aces for the Lightning.
 
Elise Carter pounded seven kills with Jaida Lumpkin adding 15 assists for the Lions (1-14).
 
Goldey-Beacom on Saturday visits Caldwell for an 11:00 am match.
