Volleyball Dominates the Final Two Sets in 3-1 Triumph Over Dominican (NY)

Goldey-Beacom showed its dynamic play over the last two sets, combining offensive power and defensive presence in a 3-1 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference win (25-22, 19-25, 25-20, 25-17) over Dominican (NY) at the Jones Center in Wilmington, DE.

The Lightning in the third set ended things on a 14-7 run, getting three kills each from the strong net play of senior Piper Nanouski (Chicago, IL) and junior Giuliana Jaku (Frontin, Italy).  GBC also had a 17-13 kills edge in the set with a .324 hitting percentage.

Fast forward to the fourth, when Goldey-Beacom (9-11, 3-5 CACC) was on cruise control with 11 kills and just two errors.  The defense also was a major factor by forcing Dominican into nine errors and a .045 percentage.

Nanouski closed with 19 kills, Jaku had 11 and nine digs with senior Caitlyn Burch (Mechanicsville, MD) adding 11 kills.  Ada Koksal (Istanbul, Turkiye) had 45 assists and nine digs with fellow freshman Gaby Fernandez (Arecibo, PR) adding 25 digs.

Kaitlyn Carr and Elizabeth Perez had 13 kills apiece with Kaeden Sanstead getting 42 assists for the Chargers (7-7, 4-3).
