Goldey-Beacom volleyball was unable to handle Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opponent, Post, despite strong play in the first two sets and dropped its road match in three sets (25-27, 24-26,13-25) in Waterbury, CT.
GBC was led in by junior Giuliana Jaku (Frontin, Italy), who had 15 kills and eight digs. Senior Caitlyn Burch (Mechanicsville, Md.) also added 10 kills of her own and two blocks. The defensive side for the Lightning was led by freshman libero Gaby Fernandez (Arecibo, P.R.) who picked up 20 digs and an ace. Freshman Ada Koksal (Istanbul, Turkiye) finished with 28 assists.
Post was led by Kristina Peric and Caley Harper who both finished with 12 kills a piece. Alyssa Groves also had 24 digs for the Eagles.
Goldey-Beacom faces Wilmington (DE) on Wednesday at 7pm at home at the Joseph West Jones Center in Wilmington, DE.
