1/8/2024 12:00:00 AM

Another productive week for Goldey-Beacom's basketball squads saw sophomore Zayon Marsh (Maplewood, NJ) from the men's side and freshman Katie Yoder (Dublin, PA) from the women's program gain a spot on the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Weekly Honor Roll.

Marsh continued his unbelievable play by averaging 18.5 points on 45 percent shooting (13-of-29) and 8.5 rebounds over two games.  He matched his season best with 25 points, shooting 9-of-15 from the floor Wednesday in Goldey-Beacom's 79-74 victory over Chestnut Hill.  Marsh came back Saturday with his third double-double of the season, getting 12 points and a season-best 14 rebounds in his squad's 88-83 triumph at Bloomfield.

Marsh's play in the post has been a vital part to helping the Lightning (9-5, 4-0 CACC) record their best league start since opening 5-0 in 2018-19.  He has scored in double figures 12 times this season, averaging 17.4 points over his last five contests.

He is 10th in the league with 15.2 points per game, fourth with 8.1 rebounds per game, fifth with 16 blocks and 10th with a .533 field-goal percentage.

Yoder averaged 15.0 points and 7.0 rebounds over two games.  She had 17 points and nine rebounds Saturday at Bloomfield after getting 13 and five Wednesday vs. Chestnut Hill.

Maintaining her spot in the starting lineup thanks to her incredible shooting, Yoder has scored in double figures 13 times,  This includes the last eight games in which she is averaging 16.5 points per contest.

Yoder is 10th in the country (first in the CACC) with 77 free throws, fifth with 14.9 points per game, 14th with a .755 free throw percentage and 26th with 5.6 rebounds per contest.

The men's team is on the road Wednesday to visit East Stroudsburg for a 7:00 pm contest.  The women's squad is back in action Saturday at Post for a 2:00 pm non-league game.
