Caleb Bates Named to CACC Men’s Basketball Weekly Honor Roll

Goldey-Beacom sophomore forward Caleb Bates (Detroit, MI) last week put together a pair of impressive outings and turned that into making the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll.

Bates averaged 14.5 points and 7.5 rebounds over two games. He had 19 points and 11 rebounds Saturday at 13th-ranked East Stroudsburg before getting 10 and four Saturday at Queens (NY).

Bates has been on a tear his last three games, averaging 15.0 points and 5.7 rebounds in helping Goldey-Beacom (9-7, 4-0 CACC) stay atop in the CACC South Division. A strong competitor in the post and one who gives the Lightning many options, Bates this season has notched three double-doubles.

He is 23rd in the league with 12.2 points per game, 12th with 6.0 rebounds per contest and 15th with a .507 field goal percentage.

Bates has had a massive say in Goldey-Beacom being off to its best league start since opening 5-0 in 2018-19, one win shy of the school record set in 2009-10.

Goldey-Beacom on Wednesday is home against Jefferson at 8:00 pm. The women's game between the same schools precedes it at 6:00 pm.
