Cross Country Competes at Philadelphia Metro Championship

Goldey-Beacom continue to show improvement in strong outings, with the men closing fifth and the women ninth at the Philadelphia Metro Championship in Philadelphia, PA.
 
In the eight-kilometer race, junior Kosiani Dunkley (Kingston, Jamaica) fought his way into the top ten, closing 10th with a time of 28:43.6, less than a second ahead of 11th place. Freshman John Ferry (Rising Sun, MD) ran another strong race, placing 20th with a time of 29:10.8.

Senior Zach Landvik-Larsen (Stroudsburg, PA) closed in a time of 29:48.9 to place 35th, while fellow senior Kyle Scherer (Wilmington, DE) saw a 55th place finish with a time of 31:26.7. Senior Chris Crossen (Magnolia, DE) placed 63rd with a time of 31:57.4.

Junior Micah White (Plainfield, NJ) ran a time of 32:40.1 to place 70th, with fellow junior Yusef Shakur (Townsend, DE) following in 82nd place with a time of 33:13.8.

Junior Tymir Ash-Shaheed (Middletown, DE) closed 91st with a time of 35:12.6, fellow junior DJ Farren (Lewes, DE) ran a time of 36:08.2 to place 97th and senior Ty Moss (Newark, NJ) placed 109th with a time of 38:26.4 to close out the men's race.
 
In the women's five-kilometer race, junior Maddie Minnick (Wilmington, DE) led the way for the women, placing 50th with a time of 24:01.4. Fellow junior Madelynn Cool (Smyrna, DE) followed closely behind with a time of 24:46.0 to place 59th.
 
Junior Ny'jashia Smith (Newark, DE) and sophomore Haley Schofield (Wilmington, DE) placed 72nd and 74th respectively, with times of 25:56.3 and 26:12.2. Senior Kamillah Monroque closed out the women's side in 95th place with a time of 31:39.6.
 
Goldey-Beacom makes a trip to Dover, DE on Friday to compete at the Delaware State Invite, with races beginning at 10:00 am.
