Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

VICTORY: Men’s Soccer Records 3-1 Triumph Over Staten Island

Goldey-Beacom received second-half goals from juniors Cameron Michalak (Elkton, MD), Oliver Person (Ski, Norway) and Brandon Delgado (West Chester, PA) en route to a thrilling 3-1 triumph over Staten Island at Nancy Churchman Sawin Field in Wilmington, DE.

GBC spotted CSI a one-goal lead before leveling things 46 seconds into the second half.  The always-dangerous senior Eduardo Coimbra (Curitiba, Brazil) took a free kick from the right side and spotted Michalak, who headed it home for his second goal of the season and a 1-1 tie.

The Lightning grabbed a 2-1 lead in the 81st minute.  Sophomore Emanuel Bustos (Miami, FL) got the ball on the left and fed a cross to Person, who put it home for his fourth career goal.

Goldey-Beacom (1-2) continued its offensive pursuit, even with a one-goal lead, and that led to a huge insurance tally in the 87th minute.  Junior Tumi Sekhampu (Midrand, South Africa) had his shot blocked, but Delgado put home the rebound for his second career tally and the final score.

Freshman Aeddan Jones (Chester, England) made it hold for his first collegiate victory, recording three saves.  Coimbra attempted four shots to help the Lightning own a 14-13 shots edge.

Franklin Shehu scored in the fifth minute, Brian Kerilu had three shots and Nicholas Shields made five saves for the Dolphins (1-2).

Goldey-Beacom next Monday hits the road to face Pittsburgh-Johnstown, beginning at 4:00 pm.
