Men’s Soccer Handed 2-0 Loss at Dominican (NY)



Goldey-Beacom had many great opportunities in its Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match at Dominican (NY), but left with a 2-0 defeat to Dominican (NY) in Orangeburg, NY.
 
Dominican (NY) executed a perfect soccer goal in the 37th minute to open the scoring.  Marouf Barry and Guilherme Pirana displayed a classic give-and-go before the former booted one home to give the Chargers a 1-0 lead.
 
Pirana in the 52nd found his way into the goals column, giving the Chargers a 2-0 lead.  Simon Osrowski fed Pirana a great pass into the 18-yard box and the latter put one inside the right post.
 
The Lightning did an outstanding job of putting the pressure on with 22 shots that included 10 on frame, but could not find the back of the net.
 
Senior Eduardo Coimbra (Curitiba, Brazil), a member of the CACC Weekly Honor Roll each of the last two weeks, had eight shots and junior Chris Jones (Denton, MD) made six saves for the Lightning (2-5-1, 0-2-1 CACC).
 
David Arteaga amassed 10 saves for Dominican (1-7, 1-2).
 
Goldey-Beacom next Wednesday visits Chestnut Hill, beginning at 7:00 pm in Philadelphia.
