Game Recap: Volleyball |

Volleyball Dealt 3-0 Loss by Jefferson

Goldey-Beacom did its best against one of the elite from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, dropping a 3-0 decision (12-25, 14-25, 13-25) to Jefferson at the Jones Center in Wilmington, DE.

The Lightning gave their all in trying to limit the Rams' power, but could not overcome a 44-20 kills edge.  Jefferson had a .360 hitting percentage for the match, which included .400 in the second set.

Goldey-Beacom's defense again looked solid with Eva Eanes (Nokesville, VA) getting 10 digs, fellow freshman Juliana Malena (Miramar, FL) recording nine and sophomore Damaris Rodriguez (Derwood, MD) adding eight.  Freshman Brenna Piller (Simsbury, CT) dished 11 assists and Piper Nanouski (Chicago, IL) added five kills.

Jess Molen had 12 kills, nine digs and a .423 percentage in another outstanding performance for the Rams (7-7, 4-0 CACC).  Aja Smith pounded 11 kills and Caroline Bond added 22 assists.

Goldey-Beacom (0-8, 0-5) on Saturday begins a stretch of playing five of its next six matches on the road.  This starts with a 1:00 pm contest at Felician in Rutherford, NJ.
