Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women’s Soccer Dealt 3-0 Loss by Bridgeport

Goldey-Beacom faced a tough test against the squad picked to win the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference and was handed a 3-0 loss by Bridgeport at Banning Park in Wilmington, DE.

The Lightning continued to exhibit strong play with what still can be considered a young lineup.  The defense remains a highlight as the squads went into halftime scoreless.

This marked the fourth straight game Goldey-Beacom has not allowed a marker in the opening half and it has been breached for just one such goal on the season.

But the Purple Knights found a with three in the second half.  Kate Thill tallied in the 47th minute, Tatianna Lizarrraga scored off a long feed from goalkeeper Antia Lopez in the 83rd minute and the visitors benefitted from an own goal with 1:15 left.

Junior Nikki Cashin (Ridley, PA) made three saves for the Lightning (0-2-4, 0-1-1 CACC).  Lopez amassed five for the Purple Knights (3-2-2, 1-1).

Goldey-Beacom on Tuesday is at Queens (NY) for a 7:00 pm contest in Flushing, NY.
