Volleyball Handed 3-0 Setback at Holy Family



Goldey-Beacom went head-to-head with one of the strongest teams in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference and was dealt a 3-0 setback (14-25, 12-25, 17-25) by Holy Family in Philadelphia, PA.
 
The Lightning showed plenty of promise in the second set, totaling seven kills and holding Holy Family to their fewest number of kills in the three sets. Holy Family topped the match with a 29-17 kills edge and a .235 hitting percentage.
 
Freshman Brenna Piller (Simsbury, CT) showed impressive play tallying nine assists and nine digs with junior Damaris Rodriguez (Derwood, MD) notching eight digs. Fellow junior Piper Nanouski (Chicago, IL) continues to show consistency with five kills for GBC (0-7, 0-4 CACC).
 
Shelby Kinzer had 10 kills, Morgan Steck recorded 25 assists and Keira Rogan added 10 digs for Holy Family (3-9, 1-2).
 
Goldey-Beacom hosts Jefferson on Wednesday to continue Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play at 7:00 pm in the Joseph West Jones Center in Wilmington, DE.
