Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women's Soccer Face 2-1 Setback at Pace

Goldey-Beacom made the trip north to Pace to continued non-conference play and were dealt a 2-1 loss in Pleasantville, NY.

A total of 12 shots between the two teams in the first half did not provide either with a goal , with all three coming in the second half.

Shortly after the second half whistle, Shannon Selvaggio found the back of the net for Pace in the 50th minute.

As the game wore on it seemed as though the match may close 1-0. But, Goldey-Beacom was rewarded with an 80th-minute penalty, and experienced senior Samantha Emmi (Logan Township, NJ) placed the ball passed Pace goalkeeper Anna Fiore to level the score at 1-1.

However, it was Pace who took the victory after a 84th minute goal from Allison Carr.

Freshman Lexy Yeager (West Deptford, NJ) and Emmi notched three shots each and junior Nikki Cashin (Ridley, PA) continues to do her part between the posts, totaling five saves for GBC (0-1-3).

Ava Viebrock had four shots and Carr closed with three shots for Pace (3-1-0).

Goldey-Beacom begin Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play on Tuesday as they host Georgian Court, beginning at 3:00 pm at Nancy Churchman Sawin Field in Wilmington, DE.
