Track & Field Gets Two Picked for the CACC Weekly Honor Roll

3/28/2023 12:00:00 AM

The first edition of the 2023 track & field awards from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference saw sophomores Karla Chardon (Penns Grove, NJ) and Hezakiah Ali-Bentley (Dover, DE) each picked to their gender's Weekly Honor Roll.

Chardon took first place Saturday in the javelin at 35.55 meters, topping second place by seven meters at the WCU Invitational.

It has been a great start to the campaign for Chardon, who last season won the CACC women's javelin title to become the school's first female individual conference champion and provisional qualifier for the NCAA Championship.  She also was third in the 60-meter dash and fourth in the 200-meter dash February 19 at the Princeton Invitational.

Ali-Bentley secured first place Saturday in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:01.18 at the WCU Invitational.

He also has been solid this season, helping the 4x400-meter relay team end first at the Princeton Invitational and closing fourth in the 400-meter dash at the same meet.

Goldey-Beacom this Friday and Saturday will compete at the Millersville Metrics in Millersville, PA.
