Women's Soccer Sees 1-1 Tie with Felician



Goldey-Beacom battled in tough weather conditions, seeing a 1-1 tie with Felician in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play at Nancy Churchman Sawin Field in Wilmington, DE.
 
The Lightning had control for the majority of the first half, winning the shot count 5-2.
 
This energy was carried into the second half, and it paid off in the 52nd minute when the ball found the feet of freshman Miley Jones (Pemberton, NJ) on the goal line off assists from junior Alexa Pacheco (Santo Domingo, DR) and freshman Jade Balon (Smyrna, DE).
 
The Lightning's defense continued to hold off Felician, but a saved shot from Isabella Bertossi found Victoria Drotos for the Golden Falcons to tie the score at 1-1.
 
Jones, Pacheco, senior Samantha Emmi (Logan Township, NJ), and junior Alex Lowry (Wenonah, NJ) closed with three shots apiece for GBC (1-4-5, 1-2-2 CACC).
 
Drotos and Filly Urias had three shots each and Alexis Lambertino had five saves for Felician (0-7-3, 0-4-1 CACC).
 
Goldey-Beacom face Holy Family on Tuesday in Philadelphia at 6:30 pm as part of a doubleheader with the men's side, who are the first match at 4:00 pm.
