Men's Soccer Falls, 2-0, to Felician



Goldey-Beacom went up against the top team in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference and was handed a 2-0 loss against Felician at Nancy Churchman Sawin Field.
 
The first half saw relatively equal play all around, resulting in both teams ending the half scoreless.
 
After the second half whistle, Felician took control of the match quickly, leading to a 52nd minute goal from Lorenzo Ferrari, assisted by Riccardo Benini, who had attacked his defender to set up the play.
 
The Lightning had a number of close chances on goal but remained scoreless.
 
Felician notched a 2-0 win after Manuel Otero found the back of the net in the 83rd minute having won a loose ball for a 15-yard shot.
 
Junior Oliver Person (Ski, Norway) finished with four shots and senior Eduardo Coimbra (Curitiba, Brazil) and junior Cameron Michalak (Elkton, MD) closed with two apiece. Junior Chris Jones (Denton, MD) had five saves for GBC (3-7-1, 1-3-1 CACC).
 
Ferrari had four shots, with Benini and Otero adding two each. Goalkeeper Emanuele Moretti had five saves for Felician (7-1-1, 5-0 CACC).
 
Goldey-Beacom travel to Philadelphia, PA on Tuesday to face Holy Family at 4:00 pm as the first match of a doubleheader with the women's side, who kick off at 6:30 pm.
