Volleyball Handed 3-0 Loss by Post



Goldey-Beacom ran into traditionally one of the tops squads from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference and was dealt a 3-0 loss (14-25, 21-25, 13-25) by Post at the Jones Center in Wilmington, DE.
 
Post took control of the match in the second set, using a 9-1 run to open an 18-10 lead.  Hannah Brandt notched three kills in that span and Kaila Sandy added two aces.
 
The Eagles overcame seven errors in the set to amass 13 kills.  Post in the third set had 14 kills and just two errors for a .522 hitting percentage.
 
Freshman Brenna Piller (Simsbury, CT) recorded 12 digs and 10 assists for her second double-double of the season.  Juniors Piper Nanouski (Chicago, IL) and Morgan Mendick (Bear, DE) notched eight digs apiece, freshman Juliana Malena (Miramar, FL) had eight assists and sophomore Megan Chesser (Grove City, OH) added five kills for the Lightning (0-16, 0-13 CACC).
 
Caley Harper pounded 11 kills, Brandt recorded nine, Maria Branco dished 12 assists, Izabella Rae added 11 and Alyssa Groves had 10 digs for the Eagles (6-20, 6-6).
 
Goldey-Beacom next Tuesday visits Jefferson for a 6:00 pm match in East Falls.
