Goldey-Beacom freshman Lexy Yeager (West Deptford, NJ) has been a major addition to the squad and her deciding goal from Saturday helped her earn a spot on the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Women's Soccer Weekly Honor Roll.
Yeager scored from 20 yards out in the 78th minute, helping Goldey-Beacom to a massive 2-1 road victory Saturday at Post.
The win helped Goldey-Beacom (3-5-6, 3-3-3 CACC) move into a tie for seventh place in the CACC with Holy Family (3-2-3) at 11 points. Dominican-NY (2-3-3) is ninth with nine points. The top eight teams in the league go to the conference tournament, which GBC is trying to accomplish for a ninth straight season.
Yeager's goal was her fourth of the season, now giving her goals in two of her last three contests and three of her last six. Starting 11 of the Lightning's 14 matches this season, Yeager is 10th in the league in goals and 17th with nine points.
It is her second showing on the Weekly Honor Roll as she was so chosen September 5.
Goldey-Beacom on Tuesday steps out of league plays to visit Staten Island for a 3:00 pm match. It is home Saturday on Senior Day against Caldwell for a noon game, which precedes the men's contest between the same schools.
