Volleyball Show Toughness in 3-1 Loss at Chestnut Hill



Goldey-Beacom continues to show strong play against even the strong play of Chestnut Hill, shown in a 3-1 (10-25, 26-24, 17-25, 11-25) Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference loss in Philadelphia, PA.
 
The second set saw the Lightning top the hitting percentage battle with .184 to Chestnut Hill's .070, amassing 12 kills. The Lightning took a 21-14 lead before the Griffins clawed back to 21-24, and the Lightning took the set on five errors by Chestnut Hill and a kill from freshman Ngozi Nwosu (Brockton, MA). Chestnut Hill dominated sets one, three, and four with an average hitting percentage of .342.
 
Junior Morgan Mendick (Bear, DE) closed with 16 digs, freshmen Juliana Malena (Miramar, FL) and Brenna Piller (Simsbury, CT) dished 11 assists apiece, and junior Piper Nanouski (Chicago, IL) notched seven kills for GBC (0-13, 0-10 CACC).
 
Erika Dubosky had 15 kills and 18 digs, Rachel Mace had 11 kills and 14 digs, and Mia Caporellie had 45 assists and 12 digs for Chestnu Hilla (7-11, 6-3 CACC).
 
Goldey-Beacom travel to Bloomfield, NJ on Saturday to continue Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play against Bloomfield at 12:00 pm.
