Women's Soccer Dominates in 6-0 Win at Bloomfield



Goldey-Beacom showed its dominance in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play with a 6-0 victory over Bloomfield in Bloomfield, NJ.
 
The Lightning dictated play throughout the match, holding Bloomfield to just six shots in 90 minutes.
 
Scoring opened in the six minute when freshman Lexy Yeager (West Deptford, NJ) found the back of the net from 10 yards out. Fellow freshman Jade Balon (Smyrna, DE) added another just six and a half minutes later with her first collegiate goal, following on a missed shot from junior Alexa Pacheco (Santo Domingo, DR).
 
Continuing to capitalize, a further two goals came before the half time whistle from freshman Miley Jones (Pemberton, NJ) in the 15th minute, assisted by junior Alex Lowry (Wenonah, NJ), and junior Angela Lee (Warren, RI) in the 35th for a 4-0 Lightning lead by halftime.  
 
The Lightning did not let up in the second half, seeing two goals within two minute of each other. Junior Tori Nilles (Fallston, MD) assisted sophomore Mariah McQueen (Baltimore, MD) in the 75th minute, and senior Samantha Emmi (Logan Township, NJ) continued to show her offensive ability with a 77th minute goal to secure the Lightning a 6-0 win.
 
Pacheco and Lee closed with five shots apiece, with Lowry notching four, and five other players adding three each for GBC (2-4-6, 2-2-3 CACC).
 
Six players had one shot each for Bloomfield (1-8-0, 0-6-0 CACC). Mia Phillip closed with nine saves, and Brittany Liss had eight.
 
Goldey-Beacom host Jefferson on Tuesday at Nancy Churchman Sawin Field, kicking off at 3:00 pm.
