Game Recap: Volleyball |

Volleyball Falls, 3-0, at Dominican (NY)

Goldey-Beacom put a scare into Dominican (NY) in the second set, but in the end was handed a 3-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference loss (13-25, 20-25, 16-25) in Orangeburg, NY.

The middle set featured some drama with the Lightning showing plenty of life in opening a 12-6 lead.  Sophomore Megan Chesser (Grove City, OH) and junior Piper Nanouski (Chicago, IL) each had two kills in that pace with freshman Brenna Piller (Simsbury, CT) notching a pair of aces.

But the Chargers took over after that with a 19-8 run that included runs of five, six and four consecutive points.  Dominican ended the set with 12 kills and a .259 hitting percentage.

Senior Rachel Cohen (Port Deposit, MD) overall recorded 11 digs, Piller dished nine assists, freshman Juliana Malena (Miramar, FL) notched seven and Nanouski had eight kills for the Lightning (0-12, 0-9 CACC).

Kaitlyn Carr totaled 14 kills, Aaliyah Ellis recorded nine and Kaeden Sanstead had 32 assists for the Chargers (8-12, 6-2).

Goldey-Beacom on Tuesday continues its three-match road trip at Chestnut Hill with a 7:00 pm contest.
