Basketball Teams See Two More Get on the CACC Weekly Honor Roll

1/3/2023 12:00:00 AM

Strong performances for Goldey-Beacom basketball on New Year's Eve saw senior Alexis Harrison (Millville, NJ) get on the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Weekly Honor Roll a second time this season and freshman Zayon Marsh (Maplewood, NJ) make a list a third time.

Harrison closed with 20 points on 9-of-11 shooting and four rebounds Saturday in Goldey-Beacom's 81-75 victory over Dominican (NY).

Harrison continues to be a solid post player for the Lightning in putting up strong offensive numbers.  She is 25th in the league with 14.7 points per game, third with a .575 field goal percentage, 14th with nine blocks and 53rd with 3.4 rebounds per contest.

Among the school's career marks, Harrison is 11th with 954 career points, fifth with 101 blocks, 10th with 562 rebounds and 10th with 392 field goals.

Marsh ended with 22 points and eight rebounds Saturday in Goldey-Beacom's 95-76 loss to No. 17 Dominican (NY).

A prolific competitor who has been a beyond-welcomed addition to an already talented roster, Marsh is second in the league with 18.5 points per game, first with 25 steals, fourth with 8.8 rebounds per contest and fifth with 19 blocks.

The points per game and 88 field goals for Marsh, a two-time CACC Rookie of the Week, easily have him on pace to reach the school's single-season top 10 list in each.

Both teams are in action Wednesday for a matinee at Chestnut Hill.  The women's game in Philadelphia is at 1:00 pm and the men's contest is at 3:00 pm.
