Men's Soccer Handed 5-1 Loss Against Lock Haven



Goldey-Beacom battled hard, but it wasn't enough against Lock Haven in a 5-1 loss at Delaware Military Academy in Wilmington, DE.

Lock Haven took the lead in the 27th minute by Samuel Hershey, his fourth of the season, assisted by Davis Dull.

A 42nd-minute corner kick by Eion Roman furthered the Bald Eagles after Dean Lewis finished from 15 yards.

The Lightning came out fighting in the second half.  A 52nd-minute goal came from Brandon Delgado (Guadalajara, Mexico), assisted by Patrick Short (Georgetown, Del.) when the latter displayed great hustle to keep the ball in play at the end line.

Despite continued tough play, it was not enough for Goldey-Beacom. Lock Haven's Connor Swope found the back on the net in the 62nd minute to make the score 3-1. The Bald Eagles followed quickly after Colton Swanson crossed the ball to Lewis, who finished in the 65th minute.

The final goal of the match came from Roman for Lock Haven in the 78th minute after winning a 50/50 ball.

Short showed toughness throughout the game, totaling three shots and one assist. Delgado and Oliver Person (Ski, Norway) recorded two shots apiece. Oscar Tengmark (Varnamo, Sweden) closed with five saves.

Lewis finished with two goals and three shots, while Roman totaled one goal and one assist.

Goldey-Beacom this Saturday begins Central Atlantic Collegiate play in a matchup against Bloomfield in Wilmington, DE. Kick-off is scheduled for 3:30pm, following the women's 1:00 pm contest between the same schools.
