Men’s Soccer Handed 2-1 Loss by vs. Bloomfield



Goldey-Beacom opened its play in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference on a sour note, giving its all despite a late goal in a 2-1 loss to Bloomfield at Nancy Churchman Sawin Field in Wilmington, DE.
 
The Bears (1-2-1, 1-0 CACC) quickly established the momentum in the fifth minute.  Adam Lynch lifted a free kick from roughly 40 yards and Oscar Hernandez was there to head it home for his first goal of the season and a 1-0 lead.
 
Marvin Munoz made it 2-0 for Bloomfield in the 36th minute, firing home a shot during a first half in which his side was on the wrong side of a 9-8 shots difference.
 
Sophomore Patrick Short (Georgetown, DE) continued his impressive play, drawing the Lightning within 2-1 in the 63rd minute.  Sophomore Oliver Person (Ski, Norway) fired a shot that was saved, but Short was there for the rebound and his fifth career goal.
 
Oscar Tengmark made two saves for the Lightning (0-6, 0-1) and Brandon Delgado notched six shots.
 
Jomar Vizcaino had six saves for the Bears and Haitham Touma attempted five shots.
 
Goldey-Beacom next Wednesday visits Georgian Court for a 3:00 pm match in Lakewood, NJ.
