Women's Soccer Handed 1-0 Loss by Bridgeport



Goldey-Beacom showed a tough front, but was dealt a 1-0 setback in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play against Bridgeport at Nancy Churchman Sawin Field in Wilmington, DE.

The Purple Knights took the lead in the 36th minute. A cross from the right side from Angelina LoFranco led to a header at the back post by Leigh-Ann Ramsay.
 
In the 55th minute, sophomore Alexa Pacheco (Santo Domingo, DR) made an incredible block on the goal line off another header by Ramsey to prevent the Lightning from conceding another goal.

The Lightning showed offensive promise in the second half, but were unable to connect, despite two shots from freshman Mariah McQueen (Baltimore, MD), and one each from sophomores Alex Lowry (Wenonah, N.J.) and Angela Lee (Warren, R.I.).

Sophomore Nikki Cashin (Ridley, PA) recorded three saves for the Lightning.

LoFranco totaled four shots and one assist, Solune Moll recorded three shots and Ramsay finished with two for the Purple Knights.

Goldey-Beacom returns to Nancy Churchman Sawin Field on Wednesday in a non-conference matchup against Staten Island, which is set to start at 3pm.
