Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women’s Soccer Dealt 2-0 Loss at Saint Anselm

Competing against an NCAA Tournament team from last season for a second straight contest, Goldey-Beacom played tough in a 2-0 loss at Saint Anselm in Manchester, NH.

GBC was coming off a 2-1 loss Sunday at Bloomsburg and today continued to strengthen its squad, playing against some of the best the East Coast has to offer.

Saint Anselm cracked the scoreboard first in the 16th minute.  Josie Pecor got to a ball on the left side for the Hawks and fed a long pass to Kayli Porter, who buried it inside the left post.

The home side in the 55th minute made it a 2-0 contest.  Pecor fired a shot that was deflected in front and Porter hustled to the goal line to punch it home for her second of the match.

Sophomore Nikki Cashin (Ridley, PA) continued to show her mettle in totaling a career-best 11 saves for the Lightning (1-2).  Sophomore Angela Lee (Warren, RI), who on Monday was tabbed the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Player of the Week, had a shot on goal.

Porter and Pecor notched two shots apiece with Emma Hudson making one save for the Hawks (3-0).

Goldey-Beacom on Sunday concludes its New England trip against Franklin Pierce.  Kickoff in Rindge, NH is at noon.
