Women's Soccer Face 3-2 Setback Against Post

Goldey-Beacom faced a 3-2 loss against a tough Post side in Central Collegiate Atlantic Conference competition at Nancy Churchman Sawin Field.

The score was opened up by the Lightning, who found the back of the net in the 13th minute. A rebound from a shot from Alyssa Ruggeri (Hockessin, Del.) created a short pass from Angela Lee (Warren, R.I.) to Jenna Campagna (Middletown, Del.) , who scored her second goal of the season.

Post followed four minutes later to equalize after Kaeleigh Serianni found Imani Young, who finished a goal from an impossible angle from the right side.

One more goal came from the Eagles in the first half. Katharine Kuhne finished in the top left corner of the net off a free kick.

The Eagles stretched the score further to 3-1 following a penalty in the 50th minute by Hailey McGee.

The Lightning battled to the end of the match. A 78th minute goal was finished by Ruggeri off a through ball from Mariah McQueen (Baltimore, MD.), opening up a ten-yard tap.

Lee totaled six shots on goal, and Ruggeri recorded four. Senior Jaida Brown (Milleville, N.J.) and sophomore Alex Lowry (Wenonah, N.J.) finished with two each.

McGee finished with four shots, while goalkeeper Imelda Lazaro recorded nine saves.

Goldey-Beacom head to Philadelphia, PA on Wednesday to face Jefferson at 3:30pm.
