Men's Soccer Dealt 4-1 Loss Against 18th-Ranked Gannon


 
Goldey-Beacom was unable to break the solid play of 18th-ranked Gannon and was dealt a 4-1 loss at Nancy Churchman Sawin Field in Wilmington, DE.

Gannon took the lead in the 23rd minute on a goal from Tinashe Katsande and quickly followed one minute later after Sergio Del Castillo won a 50/50 ball to make the score 2-0.

An unfortunate play by the Lightning (0-2) lead to an own goal in the 31st minute, making the score 3-0.

In an attempt to chip away at the lead, Dominique Ojeil (Falkenberg, Sweden) finished a great 20-yard shot off a pass from Brandon Delgado (West Chester, PA).

In the second half, solid defense kept the Knights (2-0) from scoring only one goal which came from Benjamin Querling.

Sverre Orten had a good game offering two assists and Katsande had four shots for the Golden Knights (2-0).

Freshman Oscar Tengmark (Stockholm, Sweden) totaled three saves with Sincere Kato (Woodbury, N.J.) and Tiwalade Ogunfadebo (New Castle, Del.) getting two shots apiece.

Goldey-Beacom travels to Bloomsburg, PA on Wednesday to play Bloomsburg University, scheduled to start at 6pm.
