Juran Ligonde Again Picked to the CACC Men’s Basketball Weekly Honor Roll

Goldey-Beacom junior forward Juran Ligonde (Boston, MA), who has been an instrumental force for the men's basketball team's frontcourt, today was picked to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Weekly Honor Roll for a fifth time this season.
 
This comes on top of him being named on January 17 the sport's Player of the Week.
 
Ligonde averaged 25.0 points on 62 percent shooting (31-of-50) and 10.0 rebounds over three games.  He poured in a career-best 31 points on 12-of-20 shooting to go with 14 rebounds Wednesday in helping Goldey-Beacom rally from 25 points down in the second half for an 80-78 overtime win at Holy Family.  Ligonde also had 23 points and 10 rebounds Monday against Nyack before netting 21 points Saturday vs. Wilmington.
 
It has been yet another incredible campaign for Ligonde, who the entire season has given Goldey-Beacom many options on offense and has been a stalwart on defense.  He is 45th in the nation with 8.5 rebounds per contest (fourth in the CACC), ninth in the conference with 16.4 points per game, fifth with a .554 field goal percentage and 11th with 73 free throws.
 
Ligonde's 196 single-season rebounds are 10th-best in team history and his 347 career have him just outside the top 10.  He also Ligonde has notched seven double-doubles in the campaign.
 
Goldey-Beacom (14-13, 10-8 CACC) is in the CACC Tournament for a fifth straight year, one shy of the school record set from 2007-12.  The squad closed third in the South Division and on Tuesday will visit Dominican (NY) in the conference quarterfinals.  Game time in Orangeburg, NY is 6:00 pm.
