Goldey-Beacom has seen many players provide great individual performances and one of those is junior Ayshion Centeno (Pleasantville, NJ), who today was picked to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll.
Centeno scored 19 points to go with five rebounds, a 3-pointer and an assist Sunday against Saint Thomas Aquinas.
It has been an outstanding start for what looks like a promising run for the transfer from Atlantic Cape Community College. He has scored in double figures four times over the Lightning's first five contests, including 20 points November 16 at the District of Columbia.
Centeno is 19th in the CACC with 14.8 points per game and 26th with a .460 field goal percentage.
He is one of four for the Lightning residing in the league's top 20 in points per game. Sophomore David Aikens (Absecon, NJ) is first at 24.0, freshman Zayon Marsh (Maplewood, NJ) is 16th at 15.4 and sophomore Tyshon Judge (Merchantville, NJ) is 20th at 14.0.
Goldey-Beacom returns to action Saturday against Holy Family as part of a doubleheader with the women's team. Game time is at 3:00 pm, which follows the women's 1:00 pm contest.
