Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Handed 2-1 Loss at Felician

Goldey-Beacom's second half push was not enough, falling 2-1 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play at Felician in Lyndhurst, NJ.

The first half showed relatively even play. An unfortunate 24th minute own goal by the Lightning gave the Golden Falcons an early 1-0 advantage. The Golden Falcons created a goal shortly after with Salvador Rang scoring off a cross from Anthony Medina in the 28th minute.

The Lightning came into the second half with new energy, putting pressure on the Golden Falcons. In the 46th minute, sophomore Tiwalade Ogunfadebo (New Castle, Del.) crossed the ball into the middle to the feet of fellow sophomore Dominique Ojeil (Falkenberg, Sweden), who finished the goal to lift the score to 2-1.

Despite this push, the Lightning were unable to level out the score, but they were not without their chances. Sophomore Patrick Short (Georgetown, Del.) totaled five shots, while Nick Perez (Wilmington, Del.) and Ojeil notched two shots each.

The deficit was kept at just one goal with the impressive play of freshman Oscar Tengmark (Varnamo, Sweden), who tallying four saves.

Rang finished with five shots and Medina with three, Marcos de La Hoz and Gianluca Trastuloli finished with two apiece.

Goldey-Beacom return to Nancy Churchman Sawin Field on Sunday to face Holy Family at 3:30pm.
