(2022-23 schedule)

Goldey-Beacom is used to successful men's basketball campaigns and the expectations for this squad remain high as the team announced its 2022-23 schedule.

GBC opens with five games away from the First State that begin November 11 against Bentley, the top seed in last season's NCAA East Regional.  The weekend at the College of Staten Island concludes the next day against the home side.

Bentley is one of four NCAA Tournament teams from last season Goldey-Beacom plays this season.  Felician, Dominican (NY) and Franklin Pierce are the others.

The home opener is November 27 against Saint Thomas Aquinas before Goldey-Beacom begins Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play December 3 vs. Holy Family.  GBC makes a trip to New England to face Southern New Hampshire on December 17 and Franklin Pierce two days later before ending the calendar year December 31 against 2022 CACC finalist Dominican (NY).

A three-game homestand in mid-January features tough matchups with Jefferson on the 10th, CACC-newcomer Bridgeport on the 14th and local-rival Wilmington (DE) on the 17th.  February begins with a three-game road trip, which includes a February 4 meeting with reigning CACC champion Felician.

The home finale is February 18 against Chestnut Hill and the regular season ends February 25 at Wilmington (DE).

The top four teams from the North and South Divisions compete in the CACC quarterfinals on February 28.  The winners take part in championship weekend March 4-5 at Jefferson University with the champion earning an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.

Goldey-Beacom this year looks to the play of sophomore Mekhi Collins (Medford, MA), a versatile guard who provides instant offense that included him scoring in double figures his first seven games.  Starting all 26 games he played last season and one who draws plenty of attention, Collins ended third in the CACC with 98 assists, ninth with a .505 field goal percentage, 24th with 5.3 rebounds per game and 35th with 10.5 points per contest.

Junior Zack Oree (Newark, NJ) is another guard who looks to be a huge impact and hopes to make an ascent from the nine starts he had last season.  His impact on the team was evident late in the campaign when he poured in 11 points against Holy Family and 10 vs. Nyack, helping Goldey-Beacom make its push into the CACC Tournament.

If you are asking who the key frontcourt players are, sophomore Kevon Ferguson (Brooklyn, NY) has your answer.  A strong interior player who has the capability of gaining plenty of minutes this season, Ferguson made the most of his 16 games last year and more playing time is anticipated for him.

Goldey-Beacom (14-14, 10-8 CACC) last season made the CACC Tournament a fifth straight year, one shy of the school record set from 2007-12.
