Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women's Soccer Claim 3-2 Victory Over Post

Goldey-Beacom showed great strength in a 3-2 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference win against Dominican (NY) at Nancy Churchman Sawin Field.

The first half provided even play for both teams. The Lightning opened the scoring in the 11th minute. Sophomore Alyssa Ruggeri (Hockessin, Del.) found fellow sophomore Angela Lee (Warren, R.I.) with a pass down the left side. Lee took a nice touch over the defender's head before finding the back of the net from 15 yards.

The Chargers leveled the score at 1-1 with a late first half goal by Olivia Ferris, assisted by Isabella Wysocki. Impressive defensive play by Alexa Pacheco (Santo Domingo, DR) in a two-on-one situation prevented the Chargers taking a first half lead.

Scoring was opened in the second half, once again by the Lightning, in the 55th
minute . Sophomore Paulimar Coll found an opening for a shot, which was saved by Stella Paton. Fellow sophomore Bella Davidoski (Turnersville, NJ) was there to clean up, finishing a goal to give the Lightning a 2-1 lead.

The Chargers tied the match just one minute later after Kaitlyn Zeeb found Alissa Madura in the middle of the 18-yard box. Madura was able to put a 10-yard shot in.

Both teams battled but it was the Lightning who came up victorious. In the 68th minute, Ruggeri found Lee once again and the latter finished a 15-yard shot to end the match 3-2.

Lee, Ruggeri and Coll all finished with three shots apiece and Davidoski notched two. Ruggeri's two assists give her a total of 12 on the season. Sophomore Nikki Cashin (Ridley, PA) totaled three saves.

Zeeb notched five shots, with Madura adding two. Goalkeeper Stella Paton finished with four saves on the match.

Goldey-Beacom travel to Caldwell, NJ on Monday to face Caldwell at 3pm.
