Men's Soccer Battle in a 2-2 Tie with Dominican (NY)

Goldey-Beacom continue to show improvement with a 2-2 tie in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play against Dominican (NY) at Nancy Churchman Sawin Field.

The Chargers began the scoring with a 20-yard free kick in the 5th minute. Armando Morales received an advantageous bounce off the post to give the Chargers a 1-0 lead.

Sophomore Patrick Short (Georgetown, Del.) continues to lead the drive for the Lightning, finding his way past multiple defenders with fancy footwork in the 23rd minute. A shot saved by goalkeeper David Arteaga from Short found its way to the feet of sophomore Oliver Person (Ski, Norway), who found the back of the net.

The second half provided leveled play until the 73rd minute. Short was again at the forefront, finishing a 15-yard shot, assisted by sophomore Henry Lidstrom (Stockholm, Sweden), to put the Lightning ahead.

The Chargers found a way to level the scoring just one minute later after Aidan Guzik finished a shot following a misplay by the defense.

Short totaled five shots for the Lightning, with Person and sophomore Andres Osorio (Cali, Colombia) notching four each.

Morales, Luis Guevara and Armindo Ferreira all finished with two shots a piece. Arteaga tallied three save on the match.

Goldey-Beacom face Caldwell in Caldwell, NJ on Thursday, with kickoff at 3pm.
