Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Tie 1-1 with Chestnut Hill

Goldey-Beacom played valiantly and showed great improvement in a 1-1 tie against Chestnut Hill in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play at Nancy Churchman Sawin Field.

For the majority of the match, both teams had an array of chances to score but strong defensive play prevented any goals in the first half.

The first goal of the game came from the Griffins in the 79th minute. Jason Barragan found the back of the net from an impressive 20-yard shot to the top right corner.

Despite the goal, it did not faze the Lightning. In the 81st minute, the Lightning were granted a 20-yard free kick. Sophomore Nick Perez (Wilmington, Del.) found fellow sophomore Patrick Short (Georgetown, Del.) at the back post, who finished an impressive header to tie the match at 1-1.

For the Lightning, Short tallied six shots, while sophomore Oliver Person (Ski, Norway) totaled five. Freshman Oscar Tengmark (Varnamo, Sweden) continues striking play, notching seven saves.

Juan Otriz finished the match with eight shots.  Barragan, Juan Molina and Evan Walters totaled two each.

Goldey-Beacom host Dominican (NY) on Saturday at Nancy Churchman Sawin Field as a part of a doubleheader with Women's Soccer. Kickoff is at 2:30pm.
