Alyssa Ruggeri Named CACC Women’s Soccer Player of the Week

10/10/2022 12:00:00 AM

In yet another of what has become many outstanding performances, Goldey-Beacom sophomore Alyssa Ruggeri (Hockessin, DE) was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week.

Ruggeri finished Saturday with two goals and an assist in Goldey-Beacom's 4-0 triumph over Alliance.

The season has been yet another solid one for Ruggeri, who continues to be one of the most dominant and feared players in the region with her scoring ability and passing skills.  She is second in the nation with 10 assists, fifth with 2.55 points per game, eighth with 20 points, 19th with 0.82 goals per contest and 20th with 20 goals.

Ruggeri leads the league is assists and points in addition to being third in goals.

This adds to what already has been a prolific career for last season's CACC Rookie of the Year, first team CCA All-East Region pick and first team All-CACC honoree.  Ruggeri now stands tied for 10th in team history with 21 goals, fourth outright with 19 assists and ninth with 61 points.  Her 10 assists this season are just two away from the team record.

Goldey-Beacom (5-6, 3-3 CACC) is eighth in the league with nine points, but only has played six games due to a pair of weather postponements.  The remaining teams have competed either in seven or eight contests.

Goldey-Beacom is home Tuesday against Chestnut Hill, beginning at 3:00 pm.
