Volleyball Again Plays Solidly in 3-1 Loss to Bloomfield



Goldey-Beacom again showed its solid play is on the ascent and put forth a great effort in a 3-1 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference loss (25-19, 19-25, 11-25, 20-25) to Bloomfield at the Jones Center in Wilmington, DE.
 
The first set belonged to the Lightning, who recorded nine kills and limited the Bears to a -.029 hitting percentage.  Senior Shayla Boyce (Somerdale, NJ) ended the set with four kills.
 
The fourth set was another strong effort for Goldey-Beacom, which had the stunned visitors commit eight service errors in that span.  But Bloomfield turned it around to pound 14 kills in the set to take the match.
 
Senior Autumn Spendlove (Las Vegas, NV) had 26 assists and 10 digs for her third double-double of the season, Boyce recorded 12 kills and junior Rachel Cohen (Port Deposit, MD) added nine digs for the Lightning (0-18, 0-7 CACC).
 
Kalme Moncavo notched 13 kills, Desiree Cruz had 11, Lauryn Hansford dished 29 assists and Karla Maldanado added 10 digs for the Bears (7-4, 6-0).
 
Goldey-Beacom is home Wednesday to face Lincoln (PA), beginning at 7:00 pm.
