Juran Ligonde Tabbed CACC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

Goldey-Beacom received a double dose of awards with Juran Ligonde (Boston, MA) picked the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week and fellow junior Alexis Harrison (Millville, NJ) named to the league's Women's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll.
 
Ligonde averaged 23.0 points on 15-of-26 shooting and 9.0 rebounds over two games in addition to getting three assists, a block and a steal.  He had 23 points and nine rebounds in both games which resulted in a pair of big home wins for Goldey-Beacom, a 75-61 victory Tuesday over Holy Family and an 86-76 triumph Saturday over Caldwell.
 
Ligonde has been on a tear this the season, giving the Lightning a more that solid presence in the post.  He has scored in double figures eight times this season, is averaging 20.2 points over his last five games and 9.7 rebounds over his last six contests.
 
He is fourth in the CACC with a .577 field goal percentage, seventh with 7.3 rebounds per game, 11th with 15.2 points per contest and 18th with six blocks.  Ligonde also was picked to the CACC Weekly Honor Roll December 13 and 21.
 
Harrison averaged 17.6 points on 21-of-42 shooting and 9.3 rebounds over three games to go with five steals, three blocks and three assists.  She poured in a career-best 24 points on 11-of-18 shooting Saturday vs. Caldwell, one game after notching 18 points and a personal-high 15 rebounds Thursday at Nyack.
 
Also giving Goldey-Beacom a solid look in the post, Harrison has scored in double figures 14 of her team's 15 games this season with three double-doubles.  She has netted at least 20 points three times.
 
Harrison is 16th in the nation with a .594 field goal percentage (first in the CACC), 50th with 92 field goals (2nd in the CACC), 93rd with 112 rebounds and fourth in the league with 14.9 points per contest.  She has twice this season been named the league's Defensive Player of the Week and this is her second pick to the Weekly Honor Roll.
 
Both teams Tuesday are in action at Wilmington with the women playing at 6:00 pm and the me going at 8:00 pm.
