Goldey-Beacom got the 2021-22 academic year off on the right foot with six of its student-athletes claiming a total of seven weekly awards from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference.

Freshman Zander Omans (Camden, DE) was the one who doubled up in being tabbed Men's Soccer Goalkeeper and Rookie of the Week.  Freshman Patrick Stolze (Obersulm, Germany) was picked to the sport's Weekly Honor Roll, Alyssa Ruggeri (Hockessin, DE) was tabbed Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week, sophomore Hanna Clarke (Earleville, MD) was named to the sport's Weekly Honor Roll, senior Peter Woelfl (Heilbronn, Germany) was picked Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week and junior Julia Syrdahl (Basking Ridge, NJ) was named to the Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll.

Omans was pressed into service Saturday at Shepherd and did not disappoint, notching eight saves in his collegiate debut over 113 minutes in Goldey-Beacom's 3-2 victory.

Stolze ended the week with a goal and two assists.  He scored in the 36th minute Saturday against Shepherd to give Goldey-Beacom a 2-1 lead and then notched an assist in the 113th minute on a goal from freshman Sincere Kato (Woodbury, NJ).

Ruggeri came through in her second collegiate game, recording a goal and an assist Saturday in Goldey-Beacom's 3-1 victory over Daemen.

Clarke scored twice in the same contest for her first career brace.  She put in a long shot late in the opening half for a 2-0 contest and then in the second half scored off Ruggeri's assist to restore the two-goal margin.

Woelfl on Friday closed sixth at the Panther Invitational, ending in 26:25.5 to help the Lightning close fifth.  He is not new to the scene as he exceled last spring with track & field, closing fourth in the 1,500-meter run at the CACC Championship.

Syrdahl continued her strong play at the net with 44 kills, a .357 hitting percentage, six digs, four aces, three block solos and four block assists over four matches.  She notched 17 kills and a .400 percentage Friday against Franklin Pierce before getting 13 and .455 Saturday versus Mercyhurst.
