Five For Goldey-Beacom Garner CACC Weekly Accolades

Goldey-Beacom saw five more awards from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference come their way with sophomore Salome Lang (Panazol, France) named Women's Tennis Player of the Week, freshman Macy Hendin-Walker (Ipswich, England) picked to the sport's Weekly Honor Roll, junior Julia Syrdahl (Basking Ridge, NJ) named to the Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll, sophomore Zach Landvik-Larsen (Stroudsburg, PA) gaining the same honor for Men's Cross Country and freshman Ny'Jashia Smith (Wilmington, DE) so chosen for Women's Cross Country.
 
Lang notched a pair of victories in Goldey-Beacom's 4-3 triumph Saturday over Jefferson, which was picked by the coaches to win the CACC.  She recorded a 7-5, 6-2 triumph at first singles over Noelle Frenzel after teaming with sophomore Maria Bruno (Maracay, Venezuela) for a 6-4 win at first doubles over Manni Zhang and Nicole Hrbkova.
 
Hendin-Walker got a huge 6-2, 2-6, 6-3 win at sixth singles over Ines Blanc after teaming with sophomore Elin Anderson (Conwy, Wales) for a 6-4 triumph at third doubles over Blanc and Noelle Frenzel.
 
Syrdahl got her fourth Honor Roll pick this season after closing with 33 kills, a .266 hitting percentage, 12 digs, six blocks and three aces over three matches.  She had 11 kills, a .381 percentage, five digs, four blocks and two aces Thursday against Chestnut Hill.  She came back with 16 kills, a .297 percentage, five digs and one block Saturday at Wilmington.
 
Landvik-Larsen closed 10th over 6,000 meters at the Hornet Harrier Invitational, running in 19:55.0.  It was the second straight top-10 finish for the reigning CACC Rookie of the Year and all-conference member after closing second September 17 at the GBC Fall Classic.
 
Smith notched her best outing of the year, closing 13th at the Hornet Harrier Invitational in 21:06.2.  It also was a personal best for her over 5,000 meters.
