Volleyball Handed 3-1 Loss at Wilmington

Goldey-Beacom ran into hostile territory and a tough battle from local-rival Wilmington, but was dealt a 3-1 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference setback (22-25, 25-23, 16-25, 17-25) in Newark, DE.

The Lightning in the second set pounded their way to 14 kills and forced the Wildcats into nine errors, squaring the match.  Shayla Boyce (Somerdale, NJ) notched seven kills in that set with fellow junior Julia Syrdahl (Basking Ridge, NJ) adding six.

But the Wildcats regained their form over the last two sets.  They had only two attack errors in notching a .241 hitting percentage in the third set before getting 14 kills and a .286 percentage in the fourth.

Junior Autumn Spendlove (Las Vegas, NV) ended with 34 assists and 16 digs for her fifth double-double of the season, third in the last four matches and second straight.  Senior Neyshlian Roman Concepcion (Toa Baja, PR) notched 34 digs, Syrdahl pounded 16 kills and Boyce added 13 for the Lightning (5-9, 1-3 CACC).

Angela Oliver recorded 13 kills and a .429 percentage. Heather Pedrick notched 25 assists and 11 digs with Mandy Behiels adding 23 digs for Wilmington (6-7, 2-1).
