Goldey-Beacom Men's & Women's Cross Country each had a solid outing by capturing fourth place on the day, as they traveled bright and early Saturday morning to Winchester, VA taking the trail at the Hornet Harrier Invitational.
On the men's side, freshman Zach Landvik-Larsen (Stroudsburg, Pa.) led the way for the Lightning, capturing 10th overall with a completion time of 19:55.0. Landvik-Larsen was selected as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Runner of the Week after finishing second at the GBC Fall Classic with a 28:21.2 in the 8,000-meter run.
Freshman Michael Marioni (Glendora, NJ) placed 28th on the 6,000-meter course at 21:04.9. Marioni was tabbed the CACC Rookie of the Week following closing fifth at the GBC Fall Classic with a time of 29:39.5.
Senior Chris Townsend (Voorhees, N.J.) finished 29th with a time of 21:06.2. Freshman Micah White (Edison, NJ) placed 34th in the race with a time of 21:38.7.
The men entered the week ranked 10th in the East Region according to the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
On the women's side, freshman Ny'Jashia Smith (Wilmington, DE) led the way by placing 13th with a time of 21:06.2. Freshman Mikayla Cannon (Felton, Del) finished 20th in 21:59.6.
Freshman Maddie Cool (Wilmington, Del) followed behind, finishing 28th with a time of 23:12.8. Sophomore Lilly Crone (Felton, Del) was 42nd with a completion time of 27:11.6.
Goldey-Beacom competes next at the Delaware Invitational on October 9. The women race at 9:30 AM followed by the men at 10:15 AM.
