(2021 schedule)

Goldey-Beacom finally will see its volleyball squad return to action this fall and the usually challenging schedule awaits with the announcement of the 2021 slate.

After a five-match road trip that includes four at Ramfest in West Chester, Goldey-Beacom opens its home schedule September 11 with a tri-match against Shepherd and Mercy.  Following a non-league tilt September 14 against Lincoln (PA), GBC begins its Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference schedule the next day vs. Jefferson.

The Lightning then play their second tri-match on September 18 against Bowie State and West Chester.

Other key league tussles include a visit to local-rival Wilmington (DE) on September 25 and a trip to defending CACC champion Holy Family four days later.  A three-match homestand follows October 2 against Nyack, three days later vs. University of the Sciences and October 9 against Caldwell.

The return matches in Pike Creek against Wilmington (DE) and Holy Family, respectively, are October 27 and the regular-season finale November 10.

The top four teams in each of the two divisions (North and South) make the conference tournament.  The quarterfinals are November 16 and championship weekend is November 20-21 in Lakewood, NJ.

GBC is thrilled to see the return of junior Shayla Boyce (Somerdale, NJ), who has been named third team All-CACC each of the last two seasons (2018 and 2019).  An explosive player with great hitting and blocking skills, she will continue to be one of the focal points both on offense and defense after ending last season 57th in the country with 3.64 kills per set, 60th with 4.11 points per set and fifth in the CACC with 364 kills for the seventh-best mark in team history.

Boyce enters this season seventh in team history with 738 kills and sixth with 2,330 attacks.

Junior setter Autumn Spendlove (Las Vegas, NV) has been a key to both the offense and defense with her great passing and strong defense.  Looking to remain among the league's elite players, Spendlove ended 2019 fifth in the CACC with 8.9 assists per set, sixth with 890 assists (the fourth-best total in program history), 34th with 238 digs, 37th with 2.38 digs per set and 57th with 0.23 aces per set.

Spendlove is fifth in team history with 1,235 assists.

Junior Julia Syrdahl (Basking Ridge, NJ) joins Boyce at the net in giving both the offense and defense strong play.  A great competitor who has been a valuable member of the squad for two seasons, she ended last season 60th in the country with 0.43 aces per set, 87th with 43 aces and enters this year eighth in team history with 130 blocks.

Senior Neyshlian Roman Concepcion (Toa Baja, PR) provides great defense at libero and again will be vital to the Lightning after closing last season 46th in the country with 5.21 digs per set, 68th with 0.42 aces per set and 93rd with 521 digs for the second-highest total in program history.
