Three for Goldey-Beacom Get Weekly CACC Honors

Goldey-Beacom this week saw freshman Edmond Jones (Wayne, NJ) named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men's Track Rookie of the Week with sophomore Mason Maxwell (Newfield, NJ) and freshman Garrett Musey (Millville, NJ) each making Baseball's Weekly Honor Roll.
 
Jones placed 14th in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.76 at the Paul Kaiser Classic, qualifying him for the CACC Championship.
 
Both the men's and women's sides have numerous who have qualified for the CACC Championship in just the program's second year.  The men's championship is May 14 and the women's is two days later, both in Lakewood, NJ.
 
Maxwell batted .522 (12-for-23) over six games, three doubles and three home runs.  He went 4-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI on Tuesday at Jefferson, had two hits, two hits Friday vs. U. of the Sciences, a homer and three RBI in game one Saturday at Bloomfield and two hits in game two.
 
Musey enjoyed another solid week, hitting .476 (10-for-21) over six games with three home runs and seven RBI.  The highlight came in game one against Jefferson on Sunday, when he hit a game-winning solo homer in the last of the ninth inning of Goldey-Beacom's 5-4 triumph.  Musey also had three hits, a homer and four RBI in game two Saturday at Bloomfield, recorded three hits in game one vs. Jefferson and then homered as part of his two hits in game two.
 
Goldey-Beacom (12-3, 11-3 CACC) is ranked ninth in the latest National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) East Region Poll.  It also is riding a four-game winning streak after opening 8-0.
 
Goldey-Beacom is in action Tuesday for a doubleheader at Dominican (NY), beginning at 2:00 pm in Pomona, NY.
