Goldey-Beacom baseball was able to bounce back on the road taking game one 9-5 in eight innings and completing the sweep in game two 8-4 over Bloomfield College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference matchup.
In game one, the Lightning took the lead in the fourth inning after sophomore Connor Megginson (Harbeson, DE) doubled to right field scoring seniors Cole Collins (Laurel, DE) and Justin Hill (Seaford, DE) lifting the score to 3-2.
The eighth inning sealed the game after sophomore Mason Maxwell (Newfield, NJ) hit a three-run homer. Maxwell and Hill spread the wealth collecting three RBIs apiece in the team win.
Junior Mitch Guerrieri (Greentown, PA) gained his first win of the season after pitching seven innings, striking out four and allowing three runs and a walk.
To complete the sweep in game two, the Lightning jumped early in the first inning after Maxwell singled to left field, scoring Megginson on an error by the third baseman for the 1-0 lead.
Freshman Garrett Musey (Millville, NJ) hit a three-run homer in the sixth inning, elevating the lead to 7-1. This is Musey's fist career home run.
The Bears got within three runs after Darwin Tavarez doubled down the left field line scoring Kendon Strachan. The Lightning added an insurance run after junior Trent Hearn (Bethel, DE) scored on a wild pitch in the seventh inning sealing the victory 8-4.
Sophomore Anthony DiMartino (Sicklerville, NJ) gained his third win of the season pitching six innings, striking out four after allowing seven hits and four runs in the game.
Goldey-Beacom is back at Doyle Field on Sunday as it hosts Jefferson University in a doubleheader starting at noon.
