Goldey-Beacom Basketball Gets Three More Picked for CACC Accolades

Goldey-Beacom recorded more accolades on the hardwood with junior Alexis Harrison (Millville, NJ) named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week, sophomore Briana Seltzer (Reading, PA) picked to the sport's Weekly Honor Roll and junior Juran Ligonde (Boston, MA) named to the Men's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll.
 
Harrison got her second nod as Defensive Player of the Week after averaging 15.0 points and 9.5 rebounds over two games with three steals and two blocks.  She had 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting, 10 rebounds, two steals and a block December 13 in Goldey-Beacom's 71-67 win at Staten Island.  Harrison followed that with 11 points, nine rebounds, a block and a steal two days later in her team's 72-62 win at the District of Columbia.
 
Seltzer made the Weekly Honor Roll a third time after averaging 13.0 points, 5.5 assists and 5.0 rebounds over two games.  She had 14 points, six rebounds and four assists against the District of Columbia.  This came after Seltzer got 12 points, seven assists and four rebounds at Staten Island.
 
Ligonde made his second appearance on the Weekly Honor Roll after ending with 26 points on 10-of-13 shooting and 12 rebounds in Goldey-Beacom's 73-71 victory Saturday over Saint Rose.  Among his three assists, Ligonde made a great bounce pass to freshman Kevon Ferguson (Brooklyn, NY) and the latter's layup gave GBC the lead for good at 67-66 with 90 seconds left.
