Goldey-Beacom Basketball Sees Two Picked to the CACC Weekly Honor Roll

Goldey-Beacom got two more honors this week from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference with Juran Ligonde (Boston, MA) getting on the Men's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll and fellow junior Alexis Harrison (Millville, NJ) earning the same distinction for Women's Basketball.

Ligonde averaged 13.5 points on 71 percent shooting (12-of-17) and 10.0 rebounds to go with two blocks over two games. He had 19 points on 8-of-10 shooting, seven rebounds and a block in Goldey-Beacom's 64-60 win Saturday at University of the Sciences. Ligonde also had eight points, 13 rebounds, a block and a steal Tuesday vs. Jefferson.

Ligonde this season has enjoyed a strong year in the post, scoring in double figures five of the seven games he has played. A dominant threat, he is 14th in the league with 5.8 rebounds per game, 14th with five blocks and also is averaging 11.7 points per contest.

The team this season has had a player named to the Weekly Honor Roll each week with sophomore Nazim Derry (Atlantic City, NJ) so honored the first four weeks.

Harrison averaged 15.0 points and 9.0 rebounds over two games against regionally ranked opponents. She had 22 points on 10-of-11 shooting, 14 rebounds, three blocks and a steal Tuesday vs. Jefferson. Harrison then came back with eight points and four rebounds Saturday at University of the Sciences.

Harrison also has had a strong early campaign in the post, giving the Lightning many options that has helped her score in double figures eight times this season with one double-double. She is first in the league with a .629 field goal percentage, seventh with 11 blocks, 20th with 6.3 rebounds per game and 22nd with 11 steals.

This is Harrison's second honor from the league this season after being her pick November 15 as CACC Defensive Player of the Week.
